Kitten Udpates!!

We have been getting some wonderful kitten updates!
In the first picture, we have Truman-Floyd who is in love with his big brother Huey, who is 2 years old. Huey was depressed when his feline sister passed away at 18 years of age. Huey is thrilled that Truman has joined him home :)
Then we have Brooks & Taylor on their first night in their new home. They were adopted by an amazing couple in Hoboken. They said they are already getting along well with their Beagle-brother and are all settled in.
Another pic of Truman on his first weekend in his new home.
Last we have a new picture of Harley, snuggled up against her 3 year old brother Matrix. :) Matrix took a few weeks to get to know Harley but now they seem to get along just great!!

Welcome Parker & her boys Floyd, Taylor & Brooks!

Big welcome to our newest fosters!! Parker is a nine month old baby girl who was rescued in a local park in North Bergen. She is a super affectionate, gentle, talkative sweetie!! She has three kittens who are all males and we named them Floyd, Brooks & Taylor.
Floyd already found his forever home thanks to our awesome cat sitter's client network! He has been renamed Truman Floyd, which we absolutely ADORE!
Truman is living the good life in Jersey City with his 2 year old feline brother Huey! His daddies have updated us and said that Huey & Truman are best friends already, just two days!!
We can't wait to post update pictures of the happy brothers :)
We have two more couples coming this week to see Parker and her boys so hopefully all will have their forever homes soon. They are such a great little family and super cute.

Nadia Update!

Nadia was the sweet kitten who was found under the Helix in Weehawken by a wonderful woman Melissa! Melissa was walking her dog when she heard Nadia's cries. She put her pup in the car and went back with an empty box and put her inside. She had no idea what she was going to do with her, but she knew she couldn't leave her there. I ran into her on a bike ride thanks to my quick thinking husband and offered to help. We found Nadia a wonderful home in Hoboken with two women who love her so much! They said she is super playful and very cuddly! She also loves to watch soccer on the TV and attack the players on the screen LOL! Nadia is very happy in her new home and we couldn't be happier for her :)

River Road Brothers - Adopted Together!!

Kirby & Diego from the River Road Gang, were adopted together! They went to their forever home in Hoboken Friday night! We are so excited that they will be together forever!! They are the best little guys and their new daddy is a great guy! They have grown so much since we found them that day off of River Rd. We can't wait to hear the names their new daddy picks for them :)

River Road Gang Updates!!

Here are some AMAZING picture updates from our River Road Gang Adoptees!!
Maggie (now Pretty) and Winston (now Catsby) were adopted together by a LOVELY couple who live in Hoboken. Their mommy is a pro photographer and you can tell by Pretty's picture that she is already doing some holiday shots of them! :) Catsby is still loving his reflection - so cute!
Rhiana (now Harley) was adopted by my cousin and her super cool kid Anthony! As you can see Harley is  already making friends with her big feline brother Matrix! She is also very helpful when it comes to tying Anthony's shoes ;)
Two more kittens to go!! Diego & Kirby are still waiting for their perfect homes. We had some inquiries but they just weren't the right homes.
We have two promising leads tho and hopefully I will be able to report their "fairytail ending" this week!

The River Road Gang!

Here are some pics of our River Road Gang of 5-week old kittens! :) We found these kittens just off of River Road in West New York. I included some pics from the place where they were found and some new pics of the babies now, safe in my bathroom!
They are really wonderful kittens. Very loving, very playful. They are just about ready to be adopted!!

Nadia the Beautiful!

Meet the beautiful Nadia!! Sunday my husband and I were bike riding near the Lincoln Tunnel helix and he saw a woman carrying a box. He said, look, I bet she found a kitten. (I have really trained him well, he is so in tune!)
Sure enough, this WONDERFUL woman Melissa from Hoboken found a kitten while walking her dog. I reached in the box and was petting her instantly, no biting or fussing.
Nadia is already vetted and super snuggly. She is 8 weeks old & ready for her forever home!
Very excited for Nadia!!

SUCCESS STORIES

Check out our tab to the right for Fairytail Success Stories!! We have updated and have a bunch of new ones!!

Audrey Update!!

As you can clearly see - Audrey is very happy in her new home!! Here she is snuggling up with her human-brother. The Penner's tell me she loves to play and snuggle and still enjoys to be pet for hours :) (and honestly, what kitty doesn't lol!)
Audrey was a very special girl. She deserved the best and we are so happy she got it! We love her pink collar with a bell on it.
She is also getting along well with her big sis Penny. Penny is a tuxedo kitty who was also a rescue from a NYC shelter.
So happy for this wonderful family and for Audrey!

Welcome Autumn (Not just the season but the Kitty!)

This is our beautiful girl Autumn! She is about 11-12 months old. Autumn is a rescue with a heart of gold! She loves people. She is super social and loves to give love & affection, as well as receive it. She enjoys following her humans around the house and playing. She also enjoys her alone time, snuggling up for a nap while we work. She is healthy & happy looking for her forever home.
She was left by some folks after they moved and decided not to take her with them. Her spirit hasn't been broken at all. She is 100% happy & sweet. We are looking for her forever home where she can spoil her humans with love and they can spoil her.
She just wants to be your one & only kitty. She isn't a fan of other felines ;)
Autumn is as lovely & beautiful and the Fall folliage!

Makes it all worth it!!!!

This photo is what makes everything we do, all of the vet bills, the stress, the time, the effort, the food costs, the running around... everything that goes into rescue work, TOTALLY WORTH IT!
Kali (previously Carmen) is snuggling up with her 12 year old human-sister! A month ago, Kali was homeless on a street in Jersey City NJ with a belly full of roundworms, and don't forget the fleas and mites.
NOW, 1 month later, she is healthy, happy, warm, safe and VERY LOVED!
This is the reason we do what we do!! xo

Hello Audrey!!!

Meet our beautiful baby girl - Audrey!
Audrey is a 9 week old cow-patch kitten who we rescued from River Road in West New York.
We had seen Audrey when she was very small but she was part of a big colony. We have been working to TNR this colony so we kept an eye on her for a few weeks so she could spend more time with her mommy cat. We started to notice that Audrey had an eye infection so we jumped in right away to rescue her. Audrey had an upper resp. virus which is very common with outdoor kittens. This virus was causing the eye infection. With some meds and some TLC, her infection went away and her eye is back to normal. She is a beautiful kitten. She loves to play! She enjoys balls, toy mice and anything on a string or with a feather. She is wonderful about not scratching or biting, which for a kitten is amazing! Audrey loves to purr and snuggle and has the sweetest 'meow' that I have ever heard.
We are looking for a purrfect forever home for Audrey but will sure will miss her when she goes to her new home.

Carmen (now Kali!) has found her forever home :)

Our beautiful calico polydactyl baby girl Carmen (renamed Kali) was adopted today! She is now going to live in a home in Westchester NY! She will have a super loving mommy, Rachel, 3 human siblings and a 12 year old calico sister Nala :)
We are so excited for Kali!! She is such a sweet kitten with an amazing spirit. She loves to purr and play and give love. She is now ten weeks old, so her birthday is around May 21nd 2013.
We are sure she will get along just fine with her sister-kitty. Now we have to make a trip to JC and fix the mommy cat.
We look forward to posting updates on Kali and seeing her grow up with her new family in New York.

Beautiful Carmen!!

Meet our beautiful girl Carmen! Carmen is a 9 week old baby girl that was born under someones home in Jersey City NJ. (Only 2 blocks from where we found Brody last fall!) The nice people started to feed her twice every day. They eventually bonded with her and she would come inside, let them pet her and even let them hold her! They started to worry about her safety because the area they live in isn't the quietest area and she is so friendly, she may go up to the wrong person. So through a friend of a friend, with the help of Facebook, they found us! They wanted to keep her but aleady had three dogs so it wasn't a great fit for her or them.
We heard her story and saw some pictures and knew we had to rescue little Carmen. We named her after the woman who was feeding her. Carmen was immedaitely happy & content. She even purred at the vets office lol! The vet said, she is going to make someone very happy! I think he was even tempted to keep her ;)
Carmen is healthy & happy. She loves to play with her toys on a stick and runs in circles chasing her feather ball. She loves to snuggle and be close. She loves to have her belly, head & neck rubbed. She enjoys being brushed too!
The most exciting thing about Carmen, besides being a dilute Calico, is that she is a polydactyl!! She has extra toes! Many consider these cats to be very lucky. They say they can all be traced back to Britan and came over as ship cats. People put them on ships because they considered them to be lucky!
I know whoever adopts Carmen will be lucky. She is a wonderful kitty with an amazing spirit! She is beautiful inside & out :)

Wedding Cheer from Sparky!

I had to share!! I got married a couple of months ago in Colorado and while I was there, Sparky's family sent me this picture to let me know that Sparky was excited for my wedding too :) I also added another recent picture of Sparky that I just adore!
Isn't he so cute!! Sparky is living the good life now in Newton NJ with the Cannon Family. They are now fostering two more dogs and Sparky is in K9 Heaven! The owner of the two dogs is having financial problems and asked if someone would foster his dogs while he gets thing together. They landed in the best home ever! So happy for the two pups!!

Hudson - ADOPTED!

I am not sure if I ever had a chance to even blod about Hudson. Hudson was rescued by two men just after Sandy. He appeared in their large parking garage and people would hear him cry and feed him. He would stay under cars for warmth. Finally the two men decided to rescue him and bring him into their home. They called Gerry and we jumped into action. Hudson was a full grown male cat. First things first, we neutered him. He was given his shots and we started to evaluate his socialability.
Hudson was a sweethart with seperation anxiety. He would cry all night when I wasn't with him or petting him. After many long nights and a lot of lost sleep, he finally came around and relaxed.
Hudson went to his forever home a few months ago and they are very happy with him. We are so happy for everyone!

Brody Update! YAY!

BRODY UPDATE!!!
I just got some new pictures of our baby kitten Brody!!! Look how handsome he is and how big he has gotten! His daddy John said he is the love of his life. They live together in Queens NY. If you remember, I found Brody in Jersey City just before Sandy hit. He was very sick, dehydrated and on his last legs of life. With a few vet visits, a lot of fluids, meds, food, love & time, Brody came around! We made it through the storm together, in the dark, but John came for him soon after the lights came back on :) He even managed to get two of his friends to drive to Hoboken NJ to pick Brody up, as the tunnels and bridges still had a 3 person minimum from the storm. That showed me how much John already loved Brody.
So happy to see that Brody is doing well! One of our most exciting rescues!!

First Update of 2013!

HEY FOLKS!
It's been a while. We have been busy with the holidays and with some rescue work but we wanted to share some updates!
We have TNR'd another 4 cats/kittens since our last update outside of Sabor Restaurant in West New York.
Two more were rescued from the restaurant and found loving homes!
Another update is that a friend of mine who adopted our resident puppy Sparky, did a slideshow of our rescues!
Check it out here!
